Travel for Reunion 2008
Article in the Chronicle of May 30 reports as follows:
- Flights are booked for peak period October and November
- Reunion committee is collaborating with SAS L' Express des Isles Ferry to broaden service
- For Europe fly to France.then .to Martinique or Guadeloupe then to Dominica by ferry. Other destination is St Lucia for ferry
- Ferry is willing to put on as many trips as necessary .Ferry has special Reunion schedule for period 7 days or so before November 3
- You can go online and book
- From N. America book AA flight to Martinique, Guadeloupe, St Lucia every day from Miami and other cities in US.. AA also through San Juan.
- Check Air France and Air Canada flights. Apparently Martinique and Guadeloupe need proof of health insurance and a guest house or hotel booking
- H. H V Whitchurch , agent for the ferry indicated that they can arrange affordable hotel for those who have to overnight
- Carib Aviation is also willing to increase flights for the Independence period
- Negotiations are underway with LIAT to also increase flights.
- Other persons/groups are arranging charters from Toronto and the UK.
